Nowadays, the globalization era had opened the gate to the acculturation of various cultures. Indonesian young generation, as the heir of a nation rich with traditions and cultures, has the responsibility to maintain the glorious values heritage. And, Indonesian young people must be able to filter all information in order to lead Indonesia to the globalizations era

Base on that opinion, we feel the need to dedicate ourselves to bring something for the young peoples to actualize themselves. We also try to preserve Indonesian cultures through well known media

We hope that Indonesia Drum Corps Championship (IDCC), focused on drum corps championship competing for President Trophy every year, would motivate self improvement to young people, and promote Indonesian cultures as well as worlds cultures

Understanding and caring for young people needs for something to actualize their talents and aspirations in culture and art of drum corps, is the purpose of IDCC presenting a continuously drum corps competitions every year. We hope IDCC would bring entertainment to the people and able to promote Indonesian cultures

IDCC is a media for Drum Corps / Marching Band units to show their talents and we hope the competitors would be able to improve their skills. Thus, IDCC as an international championship work with professional judges from Indonesia and other countries. IDCC is held in Yogyakarta, one of the province in Indonesia which still preserving Indonesian culture heritage, to introduce Indonesia tourism to the world

Perkembangan dunia menuju globalisasi telah membuka gerbang penyebaran budaya yang beragam, baik jenis maupun asalnya. Indonesia sebagai bangsa yang kaya akan adat dan budaya, memiliki nilai-nilai luhur yang harus dipertahankan dari paparan budaya asing. Dan kewajiban ini diemban oleh generasi muda Indonesia. Namun sesuai dengan tugasnya sebagai agen pembangunan, generasi muda Indonesia juga harus memiliki kemampuan untuk mengasimilasi segala informasi yang masuk agar bangsa Indonesia tidak tertinggal dalam derap dunia menuju globalisasi.

Oleh tujuan inilah kami merasa terpanggil dan perlu mendedikasikan diri untuk mewujudkan suatu wahana bagi generasi muda dalam mengaktualisasi diri. Melestarikan budaya Indonesia melalui media yang telah dikenal dunia secara luas.

Dengan memohon rahmat dan ridho kepada Tuhan Yang Esa, kiranya penyelenggaraan suatu kejuaraan Drum Corps / Marching Band dengan fokus kegiatan pada perebutan Piala Presiden secara bergilir dapat berperan sebagai ajang pengembangan kemampuan yang mendidik, sekaligus sarana pengenalan budaya Indonesia dan budaya dunia.

Memahami dan memperhatikan kebutuhan generasi muda untuk mengapresiasikan dirinya, maka dipandang perlu diadakannya sebuah event yang terorganisir dan berkesinambungan yaitu Indonesia Drum Corps Championship yang bertujuan sebagai wahana apresiasi seni yang memiliki nilai-nilai pendidikan dan hiburan sekaligus sarana promosi pariwisata serta budaya Indonesia.

Indonesia Drum Corps Championship yang merupakan kejuaraan bertaraf internasional dengan Dewan Juri dari Indonesia dan Manca negara, diharapkan dapat mejadi salah satu ajang peningkatan mutu Drum Corps/Marching Band Indonesia dan Mancanegara. Kejuaraan ini diadakan di salah satu propinsi tujuan wisata Indonesia, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, dengan tujuan membuka mata dunia akan potensi wisata Indonesia.
